I am very pleased to have the opportunity to offer yet another beautiful 1970 Jaguar XKE for sale. Like many enthusiests, I have loved Jaguar E-Types since I first saw one with its hood up at a car show as a kid. I couldn't believe the daring and the continuity in the design! I was hooked. The first car I photographed and consigned when I started Sunset Classics in 2007 was a 1970 Jaguar XKE (in silver over black). I have had the pleasure to list many E-types since, and they have proven to be an excellent investment for all the buyers. With such a classy design you really can't lose. One of the few things we can say about the future is that people should still have good taste and an appreciation for fine design. Even Enzo Ferrari upon its release famously declared it "The most beautiful car ever made".
The current owner bought this car from the Scottsdale Jaguar Dealership in 1992. The Dealership said the car came from an AZ farmer that had the car stored in his barn and since he could no longer drive he decided to return it to the Dealership. The Dealer refurbished the interior in preparation for a Barrett/Jackson auction, but the auction reps recommended not bringing three E-Type Jaguars as they would compete against each other. The current owner was given his choice of the three, and like most of us if given an opportunity, he went with this Willow Green roadster.
The owners have reached the age where it is "time to let others enjoy the pleasure of riding in style", as they put it. So the car is now for sale. Please take the time to view the photos in the Gallery Below, watch the video so you can hear this E-Type start and run, and let me know if you would like to add this 1970 Jaguar XKE to your collection! -John Snell
