We have this classic 1969 Plymouth GTX for sale - the epitome of American Muscle Cars of the late 1960's and early 1970's. The Plymouth GTX was built for power and speed and not much else. This muscle car will burn the rear tires right off the rims if you let it.
The engine is the bigger of the two 440s offered (producing 375 hp). On top of this big block engine sits an Edelbrock intake manifold and a matching 4 barrel carburetor. There is a complete new duel exhaust on the car from the exhaust manifold to the back to the rear of the car.
This is believed to be a numbers matching car. The fender tag shows that the car came with this size motor and transmission (and that this was the original color). So this appears to be a nice, correct car.
This GTX runs and drives but it leaks fuel through the gasket in the fuel pump. A new pump comes with the car and as you may know one of the many great things about these cars is that the engines are easy to work on. The left front turn signal does not blink and the rear driver's side window does not roll down. But the horn works great and these other minor inconveniences are what makes this car so affordable.
As you can see in the video the car starts right up and the engine is extremely responsive. This car does "light 'em up"! There are newer brakes in the car that work great (discs up front, drums in the rear). Take a look through the photo galleries and you'll get a great idea on the condition of this GTX. A paint job would go a long ways into improving the value and look of this classic Mopar.
The car is nice and straight and my guess is that it doesn't have more than perhaps one re-spray on it. While this isn't the prettiest example for sale on the Web it certainly is an affordable entry point into American Muscle.
Please feel free to ask any questions either by email or by phone. Thank you for looking and good luck getting your very own GTX!!! -John
