We have for sale two beautiful cars from a private collection—this red 1969 Jaguar XKE and an authentic 1960 MGA 1600. This auction is for the Series II 1969 Jaguar XKE Coupe. This is a three-owner car with 63,950 original miles on the odometer. The second owner did a significant amount of work to the car. It runs like a dream and is truly a blast to drive. The previous owner had it painted and had the body restored. The interior is original but the engine and exterior were both gone through by the second owner with a combined total of $35,000 in parts, paint and labor.
This classic English sports car runs like a dream and is truly a blast to drive. The 2nd owner of the car drove the car quite a bit when he first got the car but in the last few years of ownership he was only driving it approximately a gas tank per year. During that time the odometer cable broke and he sold the car to the current owner before he was able to have it fixed. The current owner had the cable fixed by the same mechanic who worked on the car for the previous owner, and this mechanic says he believes the mileage to be accurate. This same mechanic also maintained the MGA that we have for sale for both the previous and current owner.
This E-type Jaguar has a 4 speed manual transmission and the 6 cylinder XKE Jaguar 4.2L engine. All the instruments and switches work on both cars including the clock. The body is very straight and the paint is in overall good condition. There are a few imperfections detailed in the close-up photo gallery and in the photos below. The carburator jets were recently tuned and the engine runs great. You can hear the car run and watch it drive in the videos below.
