We are pleased to offer this 1963 Jaguar Mark 2 3.8 for sale. The Mark 2 was the four-door sedan offered by Jaguar from 1959-1967 and this is a very original example. This car is still in original paint in the factory offered colors of black over red.
This car is part of an estate consisting of a 1959 Jaguar XK150, a 1955 Ford Thunderbird, and this 1963 Jaguar Mark 2 for sale. The VIN for this Mark 2 is (VIN P219797DN). The mileage on the odometer reads 00846, and while the condition of the car is very nice, I would guess the actual mileage could very well be 100846. Unfortunately there is no paper work that I have found in the estate to authenticate the mileage one way or another. None of the cars in the estate have driven since about 1977 when the husband of the family passed away. The wife left the cars covered in a heated garage and actually rented another garage for her own car as to keep these cars in good condition. For decades the cars sat untouched and covered until the spring of 2014. They are now offered up for sale individually to the highest offer by the end of July 2014.
This is a four-door sedan with the 3.8L engine and a manual transmission with overdrive. The car looks to be in original paint with only one notable blemish - a scratch on the front, passenger side fender. Luckily the car is black so matching the color is easy. The rest of the paint looks excellent.
The car would need mechanical attention to be road worthy again, though it looks as if the car was in running condition prior to being parked.
This Mark II is an extremely original, nearly untouched example in great condition cosmetically. It is rare for a car from the early 60s to still be in original paint. But it is even less common to have original paint that is still in such amazing condition. The chrome is still very nice throughout. The interior is in amazing, original, like new condition. The front seats have some variation in color when compared to the rear seats, so they may have been recovered at some point. The dash and door panels and the rest of the interior is in amazing condition. There are spare parts in the glove box and the car comes with manuals. The trunk key turns the rear lock cylinder, but I was not able to get the trunk open. The hood opens to show the engine, and all systems seem to be in order.
I have provided many photos in the photo gallery below. Have a look through the shots and if this car is of interest to you, please call and I will let you know how to submit an offer. Thank you for checking out this 1963 Jaguar Mark 2 for sale!
