This deluxe VW Bus was made (born) July 1957 15 Window Deluxe. It's the oldest 15 Window Deluxe I've seen other than a barn door 15 window in a photo. In 1958 colors for the deluxe changed as did the style of the bumpers. Only the earliest 15 windows are in sealing wax red / chestnut brown with pressed bumpers.
The long time owner I got it from in 2015 was confident in the engine. He changed the oil before he stored it and he was very proud about how well he maintained it. I have seen these old VWs pop off with a good battery and some fresh gas.
This Bus made the rounds in discussion groups when it was found years ago so some of you might recognize it. It changed hands a couple times after it was found and I bought it around 2015. I never got the rear side interior panels but it has the front door panels and I did buy the rear seat from a previous owner so it has that as well.
These non-sunroof / skylight "delete" 15 windows are far more rare than the 23 windows. Its still in original paint. I have a clear title in my name though I mistakenly titled it as a '58 (model years switched in August but this was made in July '57). The last three of the VIN is quite rusted so it's titled with the body number. I do have references for shops that could finish this to your liking if needed.
