Featuring a sharp looking 1956 Porsche Speedster Replica for sale. We at Sunset Classics have sold some fine Porsche Speedster Replica kit cars over the years, but they have all been red! What a nice change it is to see this beautiful cream Porsche Speedster for sale.
This cute little kit is a replica of a 1956 Porsche Speedster. This example is Volkswagen powered and it sits on a VW Beetle Chassis. The engine is a rebuilt 1776cc VW air cooled motor so you'll enjoy some nice sporty driving. The brakes were just bled and the brake pedal is nice and high.
The interior is really striking. The carpet looks brand new and the seats are in great condition. You will really love the brown and cream together. There is a convertible top that comes with the car! It has not been installed since the new carpet was put into place but it does come with the car. This has been a sunny day driver so it has not been driven in the rain since it has been with this owner.
This Porsche 356 Speedster Replica has been maintained by my Uncle Jerry Coffin of JAC Auto. It is he who got me into VW's so I know mechanically the car has been treated right. The engine starts right up, idles and runs great. You'll enjoy the 1776cc engine because the added horsepower over a stock VW Engine can really be appreciated in a car this low and sporty. It is truly a blast to drive or ride in it!
During the photo shoot we were parked by the lake for about 15 minutes and nearly everyone that walked by had a smile or positive comment about this cute little Porsche. The car even enjoyed some affectionate attention of a nice lady riding by on her bike! I have a bit of it on video below.
Mechanically and structurally this car rates an A+. The turn signals and dash gauges don't all work. But with the buy it now price the turn signals, brake lights and gas guage will be fixed and in working condition. There isn't much to these cars however so a person who is decent with a volt meter should be able to make some quick progress on it. An interesting feature is that the odometer is in km/hr.
This Porsche Speedster has new wipers, a newer interior, a new engine, new tires (fewer than 500 miles on them), and a rust free chassis. There are disc brakes up front for added safety! It's really a great car for the money.
