We have a beautiful classic 1952 Mercedes Benz 300 Adenauer for sale. The Mercedes Benz 300 was the first model in design and engineering after the end of the second world war. The 300 series was Mercedes' largest and most-prestigious luxury model throughout the 1950's. The story of this rare classic we have here is quite interesting. In 1966 the owner of this Mercedes brought the car to his mechanic for some work. But the car sat at this same mechanic's shop for over 30 years! In 1999 the owner of a classic limousine shop found the car and had it restored as his personal car.
The Mercedes was stripped down to bare metal and given its current coat of beautiful black paint. The chrome was all removed and re-chromed, and the wood in the interior was all removed and refurbished. The interior was in surprisingly good shape and only the front seats needed new leather. The rear seats, door panels and headliner are all original. The radio has been rebuilt but the antenna still needs to be hooked up in order for the radio to function as it should.
The motor was completely rebuilt with new pistons, rods, rings and bearings. The valves were reused as they were in good shape. The car has a new clutch, new brakes, and new radial white wall tires. Even though there are 3 different numbers for the engine 3 speed manual transmission and body they are all original to the car. These Mercedes 300's were fitted with the same engine as the Mercedes-Benz 300SL.
Since this car was restored by a classic limousine shop as a personal car for the owner it was given first-class treatment throughout the restoration process. It's a very nice car that shows as well as it drives. Although not a 100 point museum piece, this Mercedes is very nice and is nearly rust free. The paint shows very well and has very few blemishes. Any imperfections can be seen in the close-up photo gallery.
