We have a beautiful 1921 Ford Model T for sale. The early Ford Model T is the epitome of Brass-era automobiles. Henry Ford called his Model T The Universal Car. He firmly believed that there was no need for further development in motorcars as he had perfected the modern automobile.
While he may have been overstating the facts a bit, the Model T and the Ford Motor Company did change the world. Before the end of the 1920's, more than one half of all the cars in the entire world were Model T Fords. At no other point in history has a single car company (let alone a single model!) held so much market share. Henry Ford truly put the world on wheels.
Model T Fords came in several body styles: Touring, Runabout, Coupe, Town, Tourster, Torpedo, Sedan, Couplet, Tudor Sedan and Fordor Sedan.
The car offered here by Sunset Classics is a 1921 Model T Roadster. This is a beautiful, fully functional car that starts up and runs and drives GREAT! This roadster features new upholstery (seat, curtain, and convertible boot) and new Ford floor mats. The crank start works perfectly but this vintage automobile also has an electric start and its original 6 volt electrical system. The engine is from a 1926 Model T ford and it runs strong and sounds great.
This is a true Pioneer with the plates to prove it. The owner states that he wouldn't be afraid to drive it 100 miles or more. On several occasions the current owner has in fact driven the car on 100+ mile round trips. The car is great in parades and it has the stock horn plus a siren and a squeeze horn!
The fun keeps on coming on this Vintage Era classic. While doing the photo shoot on this car a crowd of nearly 15 people from the neighborhood all gathered around to view the beautiful Classic T. It definitely gathers attention.
Model Ts are an iconic classic. It's fun being involved in this sale. It was sure fun taking photos of this very, very old car--it reminds me of the United States of 90 years ago and I could picture it in front of a haunted house for some Holloween fun. The car up close and in person looks like it's been around a while, and it sure has.
This car is from a completely different time period. Model Ts never had perfect (what we would now call) body work even when they were brand new. But this is a very functional, fun automobile and you won't need to worry about it like you might with a 100 point museum quality show car.
This is a car that when you park it and all the kids from the neighborhood come running you won't have a heart attack worrying little hands touching it. These are tough cars and they make great friends for hearty people. It looks good and it puts smiles on faces and that's what these cars are all about.
The lights on either side of the windscreen are original and are still set up for oil. The small oil tanks for the running lights hold oil and have not been converted to electric. The oil burning lights just need a wick and they'll be good to go. They take a round-style wick and the current owner ordered the flat kind by mistake. But there are two companies (one in Indiana and another in New York) that sell Model T and Model A parts and they have the correct wicks. Very FUN!
This car brings so much joy to anyone who remembers seeing these cars as a young child. The current owner of this Model T is 95 years old and he acts just like a teenager at the wheel of this car. This beautiful Model T would be a wonderful gift to a Parent of any age.
